About this location

The Mikvé Israel-Emanuel Synagogue is one of the oldest synagogues in South America. The historic building goes all the way back to the seventeenth century and is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

It is possible to get married in the synagogue. You can only get married here if you and your partner are both Jewish. However, you will have to apply to the city council a year in advance and you will have to prove that you are Jewish. The ceremony in this synagogue will follow the synagogue's tradition.
