Procedures & Documents

Taking care of documentation

Despite the fact that Curaçao is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, you will have to submit an official wedding application. Fortunately, we have lots of experience with these applications and have good contacts with the Curaçaon registry of births, deaths, and marriages.

Procedure

To start with, a written application has to be submitted to the Curaçaon registry of births, deaths, and marriages at least two months before the wedding. Generally, the application is processed within two weeks.
In order to make sure that the whole process goes quickly and smoothly, it is best to let BanKasa take care of the application. We will help you get the right documents and will personally submit these to the Curaçaon registry of births, deaths, and marriages for you. This method of working will not only speed up the process, but will also limit the risk of mistakes or misplaced documents.

Identification

According to the Curaçaon rules you have to report to the Curaçaon registry of births, deaths, and marriages at least three days before the wedding in order toidentify yourselves, but because BanKasa is the authorised person this identification duty does not apply.
This way, you can decide when to arrive on the island, while we take care of the documentation.
We will also plan a meeting with the registrar who will solemnise your marriage.

Witnesses

Six witnesses are required for a wedding ceremony on location. All of them have to be at least eighteen years old and all of them need to have a valid passport. If necessary, we can always provide extra witnesses.
