Procedures

All the documents (see list below) need to be with us with the application form at least two months before the wedding day.
After our approval we both will receive an approval with the definite wedding day and point of time of your wedding from the civil registration.
The wedding announcement and public notice of the wedding is done.

We will take care of the identification at the city hall for confirmation with your passport and your return ticket. (At least three working days before your wedding day.)

You will need to be on the island at least tree days before your wedding day.

Documents

At the latest two months before your wedding day we need the following documents and the “Ban Kasa Register Letter”. The original documents (not copy’s) must be recent and must not have been issued more than six months earlier.
The bride and groom both need to submit the following documents for the official marriage petition:

  • Photo copy of first page of valid passport (Signature & Photo page).
  • International Original Birth Certificate PLUS an Apostille/legalization for proof of the birth certificate.
  • International declaration of Unmarried Status by the Civil Registry of your hometown PLUS an Apostille/ legalization.
  • If divorced or widowed, copy of divorce decree or a death certificate PLUS an Apostille/ legalization of proof is required.
  • Please note that none of these documents can be older than 6 months by the time of the wedding.

Witnesses

If you choose to bring witnesses from home, they must be at least 21 years of age.

When you register the witnesses you need their full names, date of birth and address.

Documents witnesses

Copy of valid passport. At least 21 years, maximum of two witnesses. On location, you will need six witnesses.

Civil Marriage

For the official solemnization of your marriage, almost any location is possible in Curaçao. The ceremony can be held in the location of your choice, for example on a powder sand beach, a yacht, an old country house like “Ascension” or in the city hall, “Casa Blanca”.

Religious Marriage

Almost all religions are present on the island, prices depend on your own religion, and it is necessary to have a proof of your communion before getting married on the island.
